Languaging as refusal

How are we refusing to be the bridge in ‘diversity’ responses academia? What processes open up when refuse word and singular language of ‘borders’ circulating border studies gender Netherlands? Where from? Who is subject-object refusal? speak from our burning guts that a doesn’t daily lives struggles? violence research promoting individual ‘trophy’ academic/artist academic cultural institutions while holding one’s own each other’s bodies power asymmetries shaping writing for healing? does one listen silences histories slavery, war, patriarchy, colonial trauma, passing through writing? In this essay reflect on these questions by interspersing pieces texts, experiences, excerpts (from thesis/thesis-related events), visuals, poetry, entangling biographies, traumas memories situated everyday contexts teaching, healing living. Languaging becomes location where from, inspired yet tension with Anzaldúa (Hamzah 2020). (Kramsch et al. 2015) practice refusal dominant language. We call poetics refusal. intentionally make fleeting process known other it reader, as they collapsing healing. doing so invite reader struggle us naming struggles emerge singularly English, write partitioning battles subject fully knowing what refusing.
